Glitter and glass....

Sorry its been so long. Family health problems and work audits. I have been drowning in non craftiness but I am pulling my way back out again. So want to see what I made today?
Glitter, heat and stick powder and glass. This was great fun and have great plans for other projects. We are doing a stamping on glass class at our crafting weekend in Worthing. Want to join us?...

End of Salebration

Today is the last day of Salebration so I thought I'd share a card from this months card club.
The paper is the fabulous free paper from Salebration. The card also showcases our new mini butterfly punch which compliments our larger punch - I just love these and the fact the coordinate with our stampsets - here used with Papillon Potpouri.
I hope you like it....
(Apologies for the photo - few technical issues so using my IPhone!! )

White Creped Filter paper

This morning I thought I would try out the new White Creped Filter paper from the new Spring Summer catalogue.

I used just one of the 6x12 sheets but there are in total 4 6x12 sheets and 8 large circles. I folded the sheet four times and punched out two ( making 8) flowers using the Fancy Flower punch and two (again making 8) 1 3/8 circle and another using 1 3/4 scallop circle punch.

Then I brayed them in Primrose Petals and finally popped an Antique Brad in the centre and scrunched!
I love them and they were quick and easy.

Valentine card....

Happy Valentine's Day (the day after!!)

Today I can share the card I gave Pete - thanks for those that emailed or texted me with other words I could use instead of boyfriend ( some more appropriate than others!! lol)

I used the fabulous You Are Loved stamp set. Just a gorgeous set and I will share more ideas soon using it as I just LOVE it!!!
I also added some glitter paper on the matting and used the Heart punch to punch out the shape in the glitter paper.
And of course I stamped the envelope! No naked envelopes allowed!!

Team Training - ideas

At team training this month I concentrated on using fabric.

I love using fabric and I wanted to explore an idea we had seen at convention and use it in card making.

To start with I cut the fabric, card stock and multi-purpose adhesive sheets to the required size.

( A little side note about the multi-purpose sheets - they come in a pack of 12 sheets of 12 x 12 (30.5cm x 30.5cm ) size so there plenty of projects that you can use them with and they are only £13.50 so that's just over £1 a sheet. Alternatively you can use Fabric adhesive roll at £13.50  which is 29.4cm by 182.8cm)

Tip of the day!! Take one side of the backing sheet off and put the card stock on FIRST! Then flip over, remove the other backing sheet and put the fabric on and smooth out any wrinkles - no need to iron before.

Then you can do what you like!! Let your imagination run.....

I made some boxes using the Fancy Favour die - I will share some other cute boxes in the next few days.
The one here is using embossing the fabric/card with the Square lattice embossing folder - this makes the card quite flexible and almost soft and amazing texture!!

I then cut another box and made an extra bottom.

To construct it I used the fabric/card part upside down and folded what would normally be the bottom over as flaps and attached my FAVOURITE antique brads to the edges. Then I made up the extra bottom and popped it into the bottom of the box. ( I hope that made sense and the image is below)
Then I just stamped an image and popped it on the front.
OK confession time....I can't lie to you!! This box started off with a different plan but I cut the fabric/card bit upside down!!! All the little heads were the wrong way up!! - Confession time again I did this whilst chatting to my lovely SU sister, Elaine and I was so engrossed in chatting that I just wasn't paying attention!! So the rescue plan was hatched and I love the result!!
More box ideas and fabric ideas in the next few days!!

Aren't they fabulous? Just a few punched flowers, spritzed and scrunched then put together.
Very simple but sooooo gorgeous.

Sunday 6 January 2013

Happy New Year!!!

Yes I know its the 6th but I sort of fell off the planet with the flu and family issues over Christmas and New Year and haven't had the energy even to craft!!! I know!! You can see how bad I felt if I couldn't even make anything!! But I have done a lot of pinning on Pinterest so hopefully projects will start flowing soon.
Today I decided I needed a new brooch on my coat to cheer me up and so I got some of the lovely SU fabric scraps and some retired brads and gorgeous ruffled ribbon and this is the result!! I'm quite pleased with it and might make another.
If you want to make one why not book a slot at my next card club - dates to be finalised this week.
